Blue Ridge Mountains · Highlands, NC
A private retreat where time slows, the air turns crisp, and the only schedule is the one written by the sky.
Our Story
Highlands Hideaway sits on a quiet curve of Azalea Circle, where the Appalachian trail begins and the noise of ordinary life dissolves into mountain silence. We opened our doors with a simple conviction: that true luxury is not found in excess, but in the exact right amount of stillness.
Every room is furnished with pieces chosen for comfort rather than display. The linens are heavy. The coffee is local. The view from the porch asks nothing of you except to sit and watch the light change. This is not a place you pass through — it is a place you arrive at, and stay at, and remember.

Accommodations
No two mornings here are identical — the light, the weather, the sounds of the forest all shift with the seasons.
King · Mountain View
Facing east, this room catches the first light of dawn over the ridge. A king bed, a reading chair, and a bathroom tiled in hand-selected stone.
Queen · Garden Terrace
Surrounded by mature hemlocks, this suite opens onto a private terrace where you can hear the wind move through the branches all night.
King · Loft · Fireplace
Our largest accommodation, with vaulted timber ceilings, a stone fireplace, and panoramic views of the surrounding peaks from every window.

Guest Words
We came for a long weekend and left with the strange feeling that we had been here before — in a dream, perhaps, or a memory we hadn't yet made. The rooms are beautiful, but it is the silence that stays with you.
— A guest from Asheville
I have stayed at many mountain lodges across the country, and none have matched the thoughtfulness here. Every detail feels intentional — the linen, the breakfast, the way the light falls in the morning.
